After a Tuesday audition (and having been asked to sing both Meg pieces-- in ADDITION to female reporter Gloria Thorpe's (the third female lead's) show stopping number), as well as a vigorous dance call-back/double role call-backs for BOTH Meg and Gloria (who knew?! Cause *I* SURE AS HELL DIDN'T), casting was officially posted in all it's finality [or so we thought] yesterday break...
Name Number Part
Angela Griswold 25 Gloria Thorpe

~ As stated within our first table reads character description: "A probing, independent, and flirtatious sportswriter that covers the Washington Senators for the local newspaper."
I'm bold.
I'm curious (or, as some would more boldly put it: obnoxious).
I'm saucy and quick-witted.
I tool around with THE DEVIL.
I'm an insanely intense dancer.
And almost everybody hates me.
I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER.

And tonight's was the best of them yet. I'm... I'm so, SO terribly unprepared (and DREADING) tomorrow's closing matinee. Ironically? End. Of. Story.

I apologiiiize: I know my posts have been... lacking magic lately, but I swear on Mother Mary that I will MOAR than just make it up in both photo and woobie dump :] For now? Too exhausted... too hyped... and yet all too hackin' bummed. G'night, all... <:(

My. God.
Tonight was so, SO incredibly amazing. I ca-- I can't even begin to describe how much of an ecstatic whirlwind this singular production was! The only coherent thoughts I can manage are: Hsdjvbhksdvbkdhsvbdhkvbhdbv...!!! In short: WE BROUGHT THE (full) HOUSE DOWN. Did I mention we sold out?!
Oh.
Well-- we did, haha ;P
I'm just... truly, I'm left in awe. Every single person within this cast is so beautifully and GLORIOUSLY talented; they had the highest of energy, the best of spirits, despite the fact that our Cat was feeling somewhat sick before hand. But, however: at least I didn't slip in the snow this time!!! (Haha, it's a looooong story, soon to come XD)
ACK. It. Was. Beautious. I... In all honesty, I couldn't feel as blessed as I do now to work with both such an open and gifted creative team/cast. Unfortunately, however-- my camera battery died, and photos will have to be posted tomorrow night. UGH. Honestly? They review the show within themselves, haha :) God... I can barely even contain my st-stoked... ness right now, lolol. I pray you'll wish us luck in our next four, loves! Peace. Around the world. For generations ;D

Because, if you miss the chance to perform at you utmost best during an audition and/or your full potential is yet to be seen - saaaaaaay... within MTOC's Seussical, for example - you almost always, ALWAYS manage to find a second chance. And, whence you nail your pre-lim, obtain a call back, and survive numerous cuts before making to down to that of the last five girls, do you know what's soon to follow?
YOU GET CAST IN THE ROLE OF "BIRD GIRL".
That's right. I, Angela Griswold, have officially been cast (as of Sunday) as Bird Girl #1. My summer? Now 100% booked in it's entirety.
Boo-freakin'-yah. XD

For the past few days, I've been missing New York.
Truly, honest to God, missing New York. And, in a joking sorta' way, I'd bring New York up in conversation with my dad (when appropriate) and why we should just pack up all of our things and move there! XP Now, my dad would usually just shake it off with a laugh, or a "you're crazy" - but in the car the other day? He actually took me seriously.
I've been wanting to send a few things up to the cast in New York before Groff and Lea's last performance, and, after I'd told my Pops, I began to go into deeper detail about Spring Awakening - really, about my passion for the entire performance. How much the music moved me, how life-changing and relatable the show is within itself, how funny it is, things I've heard about audition processes and the cast itself through countless articles and videos. I also proceeded to tell him how, when sixteen, I can officially audition for the show.
And, surprisingly enough, he actually listened and considered everything I said.
He asked about how many people had been at the performance. I stated probably a little over 1,100 and kept in mind the fact it was a full house the night in which we saw it. Then, after doing the math, he figured the annual weekly income of an actor in the show (I told him there were 21 in the entire cast) was relatively high. (I forget the exact assumption)
"That's pretty good... you could live off of that," he said, smiling.
I literally wanted to burst with excitement! Because, you see - ever since that moment, my dad talks to me about moving to New York in a serious light. He finally understands how much I want this, and... is considering it.
I love my dad. I really and truly do.
PS: This conversation all took place on the car ride down to the Staples Center. The Clippers lost (78 to 107, Lakers) Booooooo...
PSS: I'm eating a Snickers ice cream bar right now. They're amazing. End of story. XD

Considering the fact that I had absolutley NO sleep last night, I grew very bored this afternoon and decided to post a list of some of the characters I dream of playing on Broadway someday!! Why? Well, like I said, I am bored outta' my MIND, and, for another thing, I figure it'll give you a better knowledge of what I'm all about. The list goes from OMG, I ABSOLUTLEY MUST PLAY THIS PART! to, Ah, I think it'd be all right to be in this show... 2. Elle Woods - Legally Blonde
3. Ariel - The Little Mermaid
4. Audrey - Little Shop of Horrors
5. Penny Pingleton - Hairspray
6. Eponine - Les Miserables
7. Sandy - Grease
8. Kate - Avenue Q
9. Christine Daae - The Phantom of the Opera
10. Mrs. Lovett/Johanna - Sweeney Todd
11. ? - Spring Awakening
Granted the list might change, these are all such amazing parts and I'd love to get the oppourtunity to play each and every one of them!! I'll post some more journals like these, ya' know, like... "getting to know Angela". But now? It's time for noodles!!! xD
